J & S Landscape doesn’t have a sexy history. It’s a fun little tale of two “go-getter” kids, Scott Haugland and Jay Froshing.  They knew what they wanted and went after it.  Like many kids in the early 70’s, Scott was a dedicated viewer of the TV series “The Dukes of Hazard.”  The stars of that series would race from scene to scene in a 1969 souped-up Dodge Charger, the favored hot-rod sports car of the day.

So Scott did what most of us would do and asked good ol’ Dad to buy it for him.  So, Steve, (Scott’s Dad) did what most of our Dads would do, and told him that the way he could have that car was to go ask the neighbors if he could start mowing their lawns.. Scott asked his best friend Jay if he wanted to help, and with that agreement
J&S Landscaping was born.  Scott and Jay worked their way through junior high, high school, and college summers mowing lawns and doing small landscape projects for their dedicated customers.  The Dodge Charger went by the wayside, but the fun of having their business remained.  Together they learned how to get things done.

Scott went off to college, where he studied business and played some college baseball.  After school he tried the office scene – but not for long.  Office life couldn’t compete with being outdoors and the customers who were now his friends.  In the past 23 years,    J & S Landscape grew itself into a thriving landscape construction firm.  Adopting a simple and effective “We’ll get it done!” approach to every job allowed for learning new skills and honing exceptional talents on each project.

Scott’s company has specialized in fine quality custom residential homes, landscaping some of the nicest homes in the region.  Scott still retained the friendly touches and down home communication style he learned mowing lawns as a boy.  It is the style of relating to everyone that has people in all walks of life use and recommending  J&S Landscape.

Today, Scott has expanded his “Niwot neighborhood” to some of the nicest neighborhoods in Longmont, Boulder, Louisville, Lafayette, Mead, Berthoud, Loveland and Fort Collins.   Along the way he developed a full-service team of over 25 masterful, hard working craftsmen, including a team of landscape designers. While the landscape industry sees tremendous employee turnover, J&S Landscape instead has a reputation for long-term team dedicated staff, an advantage that greatly increases quality, speed in completing any project, and tremendous customer satisfaction. You know customers are satisfied when you go through a residential area and see 50% to 80% of the homes in a development using their services.  That’s one reason why you won’t see full color adds in all the local fine home magazines, instead they rely on the best advertising you can possibly have, our highly satisfied customer who used and enjoyed our services.
