- Drive through neighborhoods that have landscapes that you enjoy (jot down addresses that you REALLY like);
- Look through our portfolio when we bring it to the meeting!
Creating Your Expectations
- The journey truly begins with a meeting at your home. A designer on our staff will invest an hour or more hearing, expanding and solidifying your goals, needs, ideas, and desires. Together, we will try to reach a common vision of your private paradise.
- The key is communication. The more completely we understand and question you about your needs and goals the better we can create a design that fulfills your expectations. A lot of questions are perfect for this part of the process. Ask away!
- Your home and landscape is very personal, so we want to really get the look and “feeling” you want to attain. It might be captured in a phrase a picture or something you experienced in your travels.
- Each project has the capacity to be very unique with special site qualities that we want to feature.
- As we listen to you we want to hear your desires. It might include your ecological desires and any logistical details. We will ask you to imagine with us the sensory elements: focal points, great views, zones for privacy, sounds, color schemes, and smells. Tell us about special plant and color likes and dislikes. Any thoughts you might have on how the landscape ties into your architecture, or how to bring the outdoors in are all concepts that we will explore with you.
Once we have covered your goals, ideas, and dreams we will share some of our thoughts on how to integrate them into a coherent, logical and beautiful plan. If you like the ideas and synergy we are creating with you then we would ask for your permission to proceed with a comprehensive plan and estimate to construct the design.
- At the next meeting we will present you with a design that utilizes the ideas we discussed.
- The design and estimate will be completed usually within two to three weeks. Note: The designer will measure and photo all the details of your home. If you could supply a plot survey map or architectural plans of your property this will help us create a drawing sooner. Some pages of your HOA landscaping requirements will also be quite handy.
Laying Out YOUR Vision
When the design is presented to your family for review:
You’ll see the colorful plant choices and hardscape ideas that the designer has put together for your home. Photos and drawings will help you visualize the ideas on the plan.
- We’ll include a line item estimate that helps you to understand what each item on the design will cost. You’ll have the chance to ask any questions and we’ll make note of any changes you might wish to make.
This is the fun part!
- A final revised plan will be created that captures all your new ideas and suggestions.
Adjustments
- We know that in the excitement of having a well thought out design that you will now have additional ideas. Sometimes in that time between that first meeting at your home and when we arrive with the new plan and you’ve had time to consider the original plan and you’ll have several additional ideas for your home landscape. That’s great!
- Budget realities have a way of inserting themselves at this point. So with the original design and estimate we can begin to modify the design to your needs. We want the design to be a true reflection of your dreams and family needs. We’ll be happy to make the changes. Once those revisions are made and the new estimate is provided to you we can schedule the project.
