Questions to consider when
you meet with a landscape designer

- Have you seen some landscapes that you really liked?
- What was it that got you interested and excited about those landscapes?
- What are some of your outdoor interests?Do you entertain very often? If so, is it with a few or many guests?
- What are the best features of your house and property that you want to enhance?
- Do you have some things that you want to minimize and eliminate (views, sounds, privacy issues?)
- Do you have some great views you want to maintain?
- Have you done some things in past homes that you hope to bring to this home?
- Do you favor certain types of mulches (bark and stone)?
- Do you like a natural look with some rolling berms and flowing soft lines?
- Would you like a water feature (ponds for fish & plants, pondless waterfalls, formal or natural bubbling fountains, or hot tubs, swimming pools)?
- Are you familiar with or have some favorite plants? A favorite season of the year?

- Will you need some retaining walls and or boulders? Type of materials?
- Will you need a playground area for your children?
- Do you have a dog or pets that require a fence or dog run?
- Does you home need additional deck or patios?
- Would you like a garden that features perennials, annuals, bulbs?
- Raised beds for a vegetable garden or for strawberries, raspberries, and grapes?
- Maintenance time you know you’ll have / per week during the growing season?
